I’m Layla, founder of Americanista™.

Americanista™ began with a simple but deeply felt belief: a story does not disappear only when it is forgotten—it also disappears when no one chooses to carry it forward.

Native American history holds chapters of unimaginable loss. Families were separated, homelands were taken, and generations were forced to endure attempts to erase their languages, identities, and ways of life. Yet what survived was more powerful than what was meant to destroy them: memory, resilience, and an unbroken connection between generations.

Our designs are developed by the Americanista™ creative team, drawing inspiration from documented history and from personal stories and reflections publicly shared by Native American people today. In these living voices, history is not a distant event confined to a textbook. It is a grandmother’s memory, a family name, a place once called home, and a story still being carried by descendants today.

Bringing these stories from an idea into something that can be worn is a thoughtful process. Americanista™ is an independent brand operated by Green VieCom LLC. Our creative team develops each concept and design with care, while trusted U.S.-based production partners print and ship our physical products. Most pieces are made to order after a purchase is placed, allowing each order to be prepared specifically for the customer rather than mass-produced in advance.

We believe apparel can be more than something we wear. It can hold a memory close, make an overlooked story visible, and begin a conversation that might otherwise never happen. Each piece is created with care and purpose—not to speak for any nation or community, but to encourage remembrance, reflection, and respect for the people whose histories inspired it.

We cannot return what was taken. We cannot undo the roads families were forced to walk or restore every name history allowed to fade. But we can choose not to look away. We can listen, remember, and help keep these stories present—one design, one conversation, and one act of remembrance at a time.
