A Vanishing Race, Never a Vanished One
For more than a century, America wrote Native people into the past tense. Schoolbooks called them a 'vanishing race.' Photographers posed the elders in sepia and titled the prints as though they were taking the last picture of a dying world. Policy was built on the same lie — that if you waited long enough, the problem of the People would simply fade from the land. This design answers that lie in one breath: They prayed for me. I came true.
The ancestors were not told they were ending. They felt it in every removal, every boarding school, every count that expected fewer of them next time. And still they prayed — not for themselves, but for descendants they would never live to meet, faces they could only imagine across generations they were promised would never arrive. Those prayers were a kind of defiance. To pray for a future is to refuse the verdict that there will be none. The wearer of this shirt is that prayer, answered. Not a memory. Not a museum piece. A living person, standing on the same ground, breathing the same air the elders were told would soon forget them.
This shirt is more than a design. It is a remembrance of every nation written off as gone, every elder photographed as the last of their kind, and every prayer that crossed a century to land in a body that is still here. They were told they'd disappear. The proof that they didn't is wearing this shirt.

Each piece is made to order, just for you. It usually ships within 2 to 5 business days, then arrives in about 5 to 10 business days within the United States. You will receive a tracking number the moment it ships.

Every piece is made to order, just for you. If your order arrives damaged, flawed, or incorrect, send us a photo within 7 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. If the size is not right, we gladly exchange any unworn, unwashed item with tags within 14 days. Because each item is printed to order, we cannot accept returns on worn or washed items.

No. The print is pressed to last. Turn the shirt inside out, wash cold, and tumble dry low, and it will hold its color and detail wash after wash.
